The Cultural Development Opens Doors to Filmmakers at Beijing

The Cultural Development Fund (CDF) concluded its participation in the 15th edition of the Beijing International Film Festival, from April 19 to 22 in the Chinese capital. Representing the official Saudi Pavilion, CDF joined leading national film entities—led by the Saudi Film Commission, alongside the Red Sea Film Foundation, NEOM, and Film AlUla—in a unified effort to spotlight the Kingdom’s rapidly expanding film industry.

CDF’s presence at the festival focused on attracting international investment into Saudi Arabia’s dynamic film sector by showcasing its tailored financing and enablement solutions for entrepreneurs and investors. The Fund also introduced global filmmakers to its Cultural Financing offerings, which span the entire filmmaking value chain—from development to distribution.

In parallel, CDF leveraged its presence to cultivate strategic ties with leading figures in the global film industry—filmmakers, producers, and creative visionaries from Asia and beyond—positioning Saudi Arabia as a premier hub for international cinematic collaboration and future productions.

Founded in 2011, the Beijing International Film Festival is one of China’s premier cultural events, celebrating global cinematic exchange. This year, the 15th edition features screenings, forums, and industry programs under the theme “New Quality Films Empowered by Technology.”
