The Saudi Cultural Development Fund is participating in the inaugural edition of “Art Week Riyadh” as a Programming Partner. Organized by the Saudi Visual Arts Commission, the event will take place from April 6 to 13, 2025, in JAX District, Diriyah, as well as several other key cultural locations across the capital Riyadh, under the theme “At The Edge.”
As a key financial driver of Saudi Arabia’s cultural sector, the Fund’s participation reflects its continued commitment to supporting the launch of cultural projects and fostering creative output across all 16 cultural domains — including visual arts.
Throughout the week, the Cultural Development Fund will maintain a strong presence through a range of engaging activities. Its participation features a main booth at JAX District, showcasing a curated selection of the Fund’s artistic collaborations with creators in the visual arts sector. Highlights include exclusive souvenirs designed in partnership with renowned Saudi visual artists Lulwah Al-Homoud and Faisal Alkheriji — a creative initiative aimed at supporting local talent and celebrating their distinctive artistic expressions.
The booth will serve as a dynamic platform for engaging with entrepreneurs across the visual arts landscape, offering insights into the Fund’s cultural financing programs and highlighting its enablement solutions that support the growth of creative projects. In addition, visitors will have access to free specialized consultations covering financial and managerial aspects, tailored to the needs of cultural practitioners.
The Fund’s presence also features a dedicated workshop titled “Cultural Financing for the Visual Arts Sector,” showcasing the financing opportunities available to support businesses across the sector’s entire value chain.
Through its participation in “Art Week Riyadh”, the Fund aims to shed light on the opportunities it provides to empower and develop the visual arts sector, strengthen ties with local and international entrepreneurs and enthusiasts, foster a supportive environment for launching and scaling cultural businesses, and enhance the sector’s economic and cultural impact.
It is worth noting that Art Week Riyadh will, over the course of seven days, bring together a vibrant array of local and international exhibitions, cultural institutions, artists, collectors, and art enthusiasts. The event showcases Riyadh as a global cultural hub and celebrates Saudi Arabia’s flourishing cultural scene — while fostering dialogue, collaboration, and artistic exchange.
